The core philosophy at Potentia is to provide safe, sustainable and effective progress over time. This means that objective, measurable progress is achieved and tracked at planned intervals while ensuring that recovery, wellbeing and health are not compromised along the way. Your individual training capacity and starting strength level are evaluated and then incorporated when creating a training program or an overall plan for you. These individualized and scaled strategies are employed whether you are an athlete performing at an advanced level, a complete beginner, or you want to rehabilitate a chronic injury. The theoretical knowledge and the active experience that I have gained over the past 10 years, working on a multitude of different clients, allow me to help anyone within the training spectrum.

SERVICES

In Person Training Sessions

The in-person training sessions can be done one-on-one or with a pair of trainees. Within these sessions are included the full spectrum of services to achieve the fitness goals that you and I have set. Strength training, conditioning, nutritional plans/lifestyle guidance and rehabilitation will all be offered and utilised as necessary or needed. These sessions are conducted in my private training studio with complete privacy and a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Nutrition and Lifestyle Consultation

This service includes a 1 hour consultation, either in person or online, as well as any diet plan, written nutritional guidance, lifestyle intervention and recommendations. As with any of the other services offered, your individual requirements and needs as well as your starting point are all determined before a plan is formulated to make regular and predictable progress over time.

Online Coaching Sessions

The full strength and conditioning training service can be rendered through live remote sessions with all of the programming and technical expertise of in person training sessions. Rehabilitation, however, will be limited to specific cases through this method due to it's inherent limitations. All of the diet and lifestyle information offered in the in-person sessions can also be accessed via this service as needed in successive sessions.

What to Expect From Your
Training Sessions

Introductory Assessment Session

Every fitness journey at Potentia starts with a low to medium intensity assessment session. This is a complimentary session that I offer to all strength training and rehabilitation clients, as an opportunity to determine exactly how I can help you in your fitness journey before you commit to training. After a short discussion regarding your goals, any past injuries and previous training, we will run through a series of movements and exercises which are appropriate to your strength level. This information is then used to precisely determine your starting point. To conclude the introductory session, I'll present you with the general strategy that we'll employ to start making linear, predictable progress in a safe, sustainable way in successive training sessions.

The Strength and Condition Training

If the assessment session reveals any injuries or mobility issues, these will be addressed through corrective exercises and full range of motion movements. The strength training can then safely begin from that point. Your progress will be tracked by objective measures during every session. The fundamental movements employed for the most effective gains in health and fitness markers such as bone density, insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular health, muscle strength and density, hormonal health and sports performance are: squat, deadlift, standing press, bench press, pendlay row and chin ups.

Long Term Progress and Sustainability

Every program and coached exercise has been implemented with safety and injury prevention in mind. Staying healthy and on track is paramount for making long term progress. Markers for fatigue and overtraining are continuously assessed over time, to ensure that that no overwork injuries or overtraining occurs while reaching your goals. Coaching for technical mastery while progressing in strength and weight is also maintained to ensure safe and efficient lifting.
